Blowin' in the Wind/America | | | Autumn Choral Concert
On Friday, December 8th Brook Farm students, faculty and parents gathered in Fitzpatrick Hall for our first music concert of the year. The concert began with the Middle School Band performing a march, a haunting arrangement of Hatikvah, as arranged by John Williams, and a piece entitled Jazz Cats. We then heard from the Lower School Chorus. These first, second and third grade students sang beautifully sharing with the audience a song in German, a Medley of American Folk Songs, and two other pieces. Next up was the seventh and eighth grade chorus. Together they sang a rousing arrangement of This Old Hammer, and Penny Lane by Lennon and McCartney. The Boatmen Stomp featured the boys while the girls performed Dona Nobis by Mary Lynn Lightfoot. The final performance was from the Middle School Chorus. This group sang three pieces. They began with You're Gonna be Lifted up When We Sing. They continued with Build Me a World and then closed the concert with Winterlight which featured a soloist from each grade.
