College Counseling
The Director of College Counseling is in charge of the college counseling program for the school.

The Director has built a library of college counseling materials, paper and electronic, of college handbooks, catalogs, financial aid information and applications, summer opportunities, test taking registration materialsand test preparation materials. Throughout the second semesters of the junior year and the fall of the senior year, the College Counselor schedules weekly group meetings. Using a variety of instruments, students learn to assess their own strengths and learn how to match their interests and credentials to what is offered at colleges and universities. Students learn how to go about the research needed for the college search: timelines, test registration, and test preparation. Individual meetings with junior students and families are scheduled throughout the winter and spring. A preference list of colleges to investigate is compiled, and summer plans discussed, with an eye to giving the student a chance to strengthen interests. College evening programs are held, directed primarily to sophomores and juniors. The Director supervises in-house PSAT tests, which are offered to both sophomores and juniors. The office works with faculty on advising and program planning.
