Laptop Specifications
- Company/Vendor: Our network supports PCs and Macs. PCs are strongly preferred. However, students who are interested in digital video are strongly encouraged to have Macs with at least 80GB storage capacity.
- RAM: 256MB required (512MB for students interested in pursuing graphic design and, especially, digital video)
- Operating System: Win XP Professional; Mac OS 10.2
- Required Software: Microsoft Office
- Wireless Connectivity: Built-in or external card
- Means for Data Backup: External hard drive or CD-RW; internal CD-RW preferred (students may NOT backup data to Winthrop server). Digital video students might want to consider a DVD-burner.
- Service contract: While the BCD tech support staff are happy to assist you with your computer equipment and will make every effort to provide a "loaner"
should your laptop require service, it is the student's responsibility to arrange for repairs and maintenance.
