The Giving Fund
Berkshire Country Day School, like all independent schools, depends on the generosity of current and pat parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, school employees, and friends of the school for financial support. One way to show your support for BCD and its mission is to make a tax-deductible annual contribution to the Giving Fund.
BCD’s Giving Fund bridges the gap between what the school raises in tuition and what it actually costs to educate our students. Tuition revenues cover approximately 75 percent of the cost of education. If the school only relied on tuition and did not do fundraising, tuition would actually be several thousands of dollars more, putting the cost of a BCD education beyond the means for many qualified and deserving applicants.
Gifts to the Giving Fund cover such expenses as:
- Computer and technology enhancements
- Travel programs
- Books and supplies
- Musical instruments
- Art supplies
- Computers
- Professional development for faculty
- Fuel oil
- Unexpected costs that arise in the course of operating a school year and maintaining a campus.
There are three ways you can make your annual payment to the Giving Fund:
- Go online to berkshirecountryday.org and click on “Give Online.” You can make your donation using a major credit card;
- Call the Development Department at BCD, 413-637-0755 and a Development Associate can take your credit card information over the phone or send you a gift envelope; or
- 3. Mail your check to BCD at P.O. Box 867, Lenox, MA 01240 – indicate annual Giving Fund in the ‘memo’ if you do not have a gift envelope.
